Recommended Service Schedule

MTX Motion Trailer Worx

A common question that we receive is, “When should I get my trailer serviced?”

BEFORE EACH USE

It is important to check your tire pressure, breakaway switch/battery, lights, and brakes.

WEEKLY

Inflate your tires to the mfg’s. specifications.

MONTHLY

We suggest that you should inspect and service your trailer every month. This includes checking your trailer suspension, tires, welds/structure, and wearable items such as the coupler.

3 MONTHS OR 3,000 MILES

Adjust your brakes to the proper operating clearance. Grease your suspension wet bolts, equalizers, and bushings. It is also important to torque your wheel nuts to the required torque specification.

6 MONTHS OR 6,000 MILES

Inspect your brake magnets and make sure that your vehicle's brake controller is working properly. It is also important to inspect your suspension bolts to make sure that they have not bent or loosened over time. Lastly, it is important to check your wheels for cracks, dents or distortion.

12 MONTH OR 12,000 MILES

Check your brake lining for wear or contamination. If your trailer has brake cylinders check for leaks and sticking. Other notable things to check include your brake lines, wiring, hub and drum wear, bearings/races, springs, and the welds around your suspension. Lastly, your trailer axles should be repacked every 12,000 miles.
